Toyota Etios 2015 prices, specs
The Toyota Conquest was one of the best selling cars of all time and could be found across the country before evolving into the Tazz. After the Toyota Tazz’s immense success, Toyota attempted to expand their dominance in the small hatchback sector once more and this materialised as the Toyota Etios, which is enjoying exceptional sales across the country once more.
So how does Toyota improve sales without changing the formula behind the Toyota Etios? Simple. A facelift.
The 2015 Toyota Etios will now come with a new Jet Grey Metallic paint option, new grille, additional colour coding and revised tail lamos. The interior of the sees the most improvements, with an improved Bluetooth audio system and a higher quality liftable luggage compartment cover being added to the plethora of Etios updates since May 2012. Seats have been re-profiled for more comfort, the instrument cluster is backlight in blue, driver’s window features Auto-Up and ventilation controls have seen a slight ergonomic enhancement.
The engine will remain a 1.5 litre, 4-cylinder powerplant, coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox, cranking out 66kW @ 5600rpm and 132Nm @ 3000rpm. Fuel economy stays at a happy 5.9litres/100km for the sedan and 6.0litres/100km for the hatchback. Reduced noise and vibration levels are the result of hydraulic mounts and a more effective exhaust silencer.
The Toyota Etios facelift will definitely continue to be a best seller considering that the 2015 improvements add only R100 onto the price tag, making it a bargain for students and those looking to downsize.
