Volvo Trucks must pay its marketing team well. Remember Jean Claude Van Damme doing the splits between two moving Volvo trucks? Now the team is back in the record books with its 2400hp truck dubbed Iron Knight.
The new 500-metre record now reads: 13.71 seconds at an average speed of 131.29km/h. The 1000-metre record: 21.29 seconds at an average speed of 169km/h. The quad turbo engine with 6000Nm overcame aerodynamics to propel the 4.5 tonne machine to a top speed of 276Nm.
