Aston Martin DBS ‘Fakhuna’ By German Tuner DMC

Posted on 11 June 2012 by SACarFan

Calling a car “Fakhuna” seems a like a poor naming choice to say the least, but that’s exactly what the German tuner of luxury vehicles, DMC, has done with their custom design for the Aston Martin DBS.

The proposed styling package includes a new front bumper with larger air intakes, as well as a spoiler trimmed in carbon fibre and real gold accents. The bonnet has also been redesigned with new vents, while the larger side skirts provide a lowered and more stretched look. DMC has also given the Aston DBS a new rear wing, roof scoop, plus a new rear bumper with a diffuser, gold accents and centrally mounted twin tail pipes.

The German fitted a new, three-part, forged alloy wheel. The concave rims and the titanium bolting are combined with a highly-polished rim flange. DMC offers the wheel/tyre combination with 245/30 ZR21 tyres at the front and 295/25 ZR21 at the rear.

The Duesseldorf based tuner says it can further enhance the car with a lowered sports suspension (30 mm at the front and 20 mm at the rear), and a custom sports exhaust system.

DMC points out that the Fakhuna is available only as a custom order and that those interested should contact the company directly for more details including pricing.

Anderson’s Black Beauty

Posted on 06 April 2011 by SACarFan

German tuning specialist Anderson has released yet another program. This time it is the Aston Martin DBS, which the tuner has given a thorough going over and a suitable name to boot – the ‘Superior Black Edition’. The Aston Martin DBS Superior Black Edition is the type of car James Bond would drive if he was more badass and less proper.

Achieving the dramatic exterior look took a simple matte black paint job and a set of bright red brake calipers, set behind the new 21-inch wheels. The interior is spruced up with carbon fibre elements, black leather and Alcantara mixed in with some red trim and cross stitching on the seats.

The power upgrade for the DBS Superior Black Edition isn’t astronomical, but it gets the job done. A standard DBS is good for 380 kW at 6 500 r/min from its hand-built V12 engine, but with the addition of a new exhaust system, Anderson has managed to increased that figure to 417 kW. No information has been released on the increased power’s effect on the performance figures, but honestly, when you look this cool, does the 0 – 100 km/h sprint time and top speed even matter?!

Special Edition Carbon Black Aston Martins

Posted on 21 December 2009 by Scott Hayes

www.SACarFan.co.za - Aston Martin V12 Vantage Carbon Black Edition

Few will ever contest the exclusivity of owning an Aston Martin. Any Aston Martin will do, but it doesn’t get any better than the supercars in the line-up, being the DBS and V12 Vantage.

But if you reckon there are a few too many of these models around, then I suspect you’ll be more than pleased with the Carbon Black Special Editions, which the company has just announced.

If you choose either of these models, expect bespoke Carbon Black metallic paint with a subtle metallic twist for a rich patina finish.

But this is no ordinary paint job. Each car will require an incredible 50 man-hours of hand painting with stringent quality control to ensure a perfect finish.

The traditional Aston Martin side strake is finished in proper carbon fibre, backed by black mesh along with a set of superb gloss black 10-spoke diamond turned alloy wheels.

It’s all about black inside the car too with Obsidian Black leather with contrasting sliver course stitch – hand stitched of course by craftspeople at Aston Martin headquarters in England.

Special lightweight seats made from carbon fibre and Kevlar replace the standard sports seats, saving a significant 17 kilograms per seat.

Continuing with the all-black theme, the facia, centre stack and centre console are trimmed Piano black along with anodised black tread plates and carbon sill plaques.

Audio in the V12 Vantage is a 700w premium system, which we rate as the best standard fit in car audio system we have heard in 2009, while the DBS is fitted the incomparable Bang & Olufsen Beosound DBS system as standard kit.

Order the Carbon Black Edition V12 Vantage then you will have the opportunity to experience Aston Martin’s Performance Driving Course (UK and Europe only) free of charge, which should be hugely rewarding for any owner.
