Want a first look at the production-ready Land Rover LRX? Start planning a trip to France – the new model will make its official debut at the 2010 Paris Motor Show this September.

In September 2009, Land Rover confirmed it would indeed build the LRX – first shown as a concept in 2008 – as a production vehicle. Although details are still slim, we’ve heard the company plans on offering the model as a Range Rover, allowing it to fit in just beneath the Land Rover Sport.

Rumors suggest Land Rover may use the LRX to launch its new hybrid powertrain, which also appeared in the LRX concept. The system could pair a 3,0-litre turbo-diesel V6 with an electric motor and reports suggest that a plug-in version ha also been discussed, which could offer up to a 32 kilometer range from electricity alone. Sources close to the LRX say it will be “the most efficient vehicle” ever offered by the brand.
