Word is out that Aston Martin is developing a faster, more powerful version of its Rapide four-door, a rumor fueled by new spy shots snapped in the surrounds of Germany‘s infamous Nürburgring.
The camouflaged prototype pictured above appears to be masking new bodywork, which includes tweaked front and rear bumpers for a lower, more aerodynamic look, as well as the possibility of side scoops to aid in cooling, though there’s no evidence of those as yet in the spied images.
Foremost however is the expected upgrade in power from the current 350 kW 6.0-litre V12, to the more powerful 380 kW unit found in the V12 Vantage and DBS. Along with the power boost comes talk of carbon-ceramic brake discs and a stiffer suspension setup.
The hotter Rapide is likely to adopt the ‘S’ moniker when it comes to market in late 2011 or early 2012.
