Spy photographers have snapped new pictures of the 2012 Audi RS4 Avant. Caught undergoing testing on the Nürburgring, the heavily camouflaged prototype has an aggressive front fascia, a sport-tuned suspension and a massive dual exhaust system.
What will power the RS4? That’s still not known for sure, but the 331 kW, 4.2-litre V8 found in the RS5 is a possibility, as is a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 that’s said to be coming in the S6 and S7, rated at about 320 kW. Finally, Audi’s supercharged V6 could also get the nod in place of the V8s, though output will likely remain at least 300 kW, to do battle with the likes of BMW’s M3 and Mercedes-Benz’s new C63 AMG.
The RS4 could be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, so stay tuned for additional information.
