Mad Max, your new Pursuit Special is here: the Nissan Juke-R Concept. You don’t get a fake supercharger poking out of the bonnet, but what you do get is the Nissan GT-R’s V6 engine with a pair of very real turbochargers.
In Juke-R form, the big six punches out 358 kW – down 47 kW on the newly-updated 2012 GT-R, but more than twice the power of the regular Juke’s range-topping 140 kW four-cylinder heart.
To make room for the GT-R’s all-wheel-drive system, wider track and fatter wheels, Nissan blessed the Juke with a widened body.
Toughing up the exterior is a large splitter at the front, and a hefty diffuser likely resides at the back, beneath the two roof-mounted spoilers.
Inside, the Juke-R gets Godzilla’s steering wheel and a custom version of the hero car’s instrument panel, along with OMP racing seats and a roll cage.
Nissan says the GT-R powered Juke won’t be going anywhere near a production line, but as a road-legal concept, you just might see it touring the streets at future events. In Europe or the US, at least, where the Juke makes its home.
