The 2012 Renault Twingo facelift is currently having its market launch across European and Renault has just announced a facelift for the sporty Twingo RS, which also includes the Gordini RS version.
Purely a styling exercise and, arguably, looking quite confused, the front end attempts to align itself with the Clio RS by incorporate a sporting “F1-style blade” into the lower front bumper and grille styling.
Power output remains the same, with the 1.6-litre 16-valve engine producing 98 kW and 160 Nm of torque. CO2 emissions have been reduced and are now 150 g/km and average fuel consumption is a claimed 6.5 L/100km. The Twingo RS features relatively massive brakes for a car of its size – 280 mm discs up front and 240 mm at the rear.
Renault will start accepting orders in France on February 20, 2012, with a South African debut expected in the 3rd quarter of 2012.
