According to a recent report by BMWBlog, the long awaited BMW M6 (F12) is due to have its media reveal next month. No sources have been identified, but it is also expected to make its public debut shortly after at the Geneva Motor Show in early March.
Power for the M6 is expected to come from the same 4.4-litre twin-turbo that drives the M5 sedan, along with the X5 M and X6 M SUVs, producing upwards up 415 kW and 650 Nm of torque. The M6 is believed to be getting a sportier suspension, carbon-ceramic brakes and lightweight alloy wheels, while the engine will be mated to a 7-speed M-DCT transmission.
According to sources, it will enable the M6 to accelerate from 0 – 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds. Assuming we are talking about the coupe, this is 0.2 seconds quicker than its predecessor and suggests the convertible will achieve a time of around 4.5 seconds. In the 5 Series version, the M deal includes a 250 km/h top speed, boosted to 305 km/h if you tick the “M Driver” package.
