Well known comedian and long-time Porsche enthusiast and collector, Jerry Seinfeld, is said to be starting a new TV show called ‘Comics and Cars’. Featuring other stars like Ricky Gervais, Larry David, and Alec Baldwin, the show would essentially be funny people having funny car-related conversations, looking back at the cars they’ve owned, reports The Daily.
Little more is known about the show’s details at this stage or, in fact, the likelihood of it reaching production, but the news should come as no surprise to Seinfeld fans, as the stand-up comedian has been dropping hints about the possibility over the last several weeks on Twitter. In a series of tweets, Seinfeld wrote:
“Working on my New Thing. Shooting in Manhattan with the Great @alecbaldwin…”, “New Seiny Gig Update: Always lovable Ricky Gervais and myself shooting today in City Island, NY…”, “Seiny and LD (Larry David) back together again? What could this mean? Here’s a clue: A 1952 VW (Volkswagen).”
While the concept isn’t new – after all, comedy is a large part of what’s made the BBC’s Top Gear so successful – we certainly hope Seinfeld’s plan comes to fruition, as there’s always room for a properly-executed mixture of cars and comedy.
