Bentley Continental GT3 Concept

It seems Bentley are keen, and being pushed by their customers, to take on the likes of Lamborghini, Ferrari, McLaren and others in motorsport. They have revealed the Bentley Continental GT3 concept at the Paris Motor Show.

“The clear message from our customers is that Bentley belongs on the racetrack, and the Continental GT3 is the realisation of a dream we’ve had ever since the launch of the Continental GT,” said Wolfgang Schreiber, Bentley’s Chairman and Chief Executive.

Based on the Bentley Continental GT Speed, the Continental GT3 concept is currently under development with the goal to have the car race-ready towards the end of 2013.

Bentley’s lips remain sealed as to the car’s technical prowess, but in order to qualify for the FIA GT3 class and a variety of other endurance racing series’, the car will need to lose it’s all-wheel drive configuration in favour of the rear wheels only. Other upgrades include a dramatic wide-body kit with Bentley’s racing livery, side exhaust pipes and a stripped out interior.
