Ford Mustang Steals SEMA Show

Ford-Mustang-SEMA

Tuner cars are more often than not, the best way to ruin a perfectly good production car. We’re talking cars with quad-turbos that’ll do a lap of a circuit once before blowing up and cars that are so lathered with subwoofers and Day-Glo paint that Dr. Zeuss would call then by name. These sorts of cars live at a show called SEMA. We’ll cut through most of the slanderously-bad tuning efforts of Las Vegas’s annual SEMA show and just share the ‘Hottest Car’ from 2013’s event with you: It’s a Ford Mustang. For the second year running, the Ford Mustang has edged out its arch-rivals from Chevrolet and Dodge for the annual award which recognises ‘the most accessory-friendly vehicle.’

Or to phrase it in a way tuners will understand, the winning vehicle is judged according to the number of customised versions of that car and the amount of customisable parts available for that car. This encourages manufacturer participation and accordingly, many of the custom Mustangs were presented by Ford Motor Company themselves. Ford had 57 different vehicles on their SEMA stand. Ford also took home a second awards, winning the ‘Hottest Truck’ honour with Ford F-Series Truck.
