German tuning firm Kicherer have already had experience tuning the Mercedes-Benz CLS 500, but now they’ve moved on to the flagship CLS 63 AMG model, which they’ve called their ‘Yachting’ edition.
Looking rather restrained by aftermarket tuning standards, Kicherer have left the CLS 63 AMG largely untouched, save for a ‘Star Graphite’ matt finish, a few carbon fibre highlights and a new set of alloy wheels; 20-inch in front and 21-inch at the rear. The interior has been subtly modified too, with more leather, together with touches of Alcantara and carbon fibre.
Kicherer have not held back when it comes to the 5.5-litre biturbo V8, however. The AMG engine has been tweaked to produce 460 kW and 860 Nm of torque. This represents an increase of 74 kW and 160 Nm over the ‘standard’ model, or the rough equivalent of a 1.4-litre Volkswagen Polo! With its new found power and speed limiter removed, the CLS 63 AMG Yachting will reach 300 km/h and with little hesitation we’d imagine. Kicherer also installed a suspension lowering module, high-performance brakes and a limited-slip differential.
