2013 Honda Civic

The Honda Civic will arrive with more than just a facelift when it’s introduced at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2013. Honda are seeking to restore some of the Civic’s appeal after being criticised by U.S. automotive media at the time of its original launch in April, 2011.

The sedan’s understated styling (compared to the hatch, at least) is now to be replaced with a fresh, more-youthful, look for the competitive U.S. market. The two pictures released by Honda show a redesigned front facia that borrows the more angular lines of the new Accord. At the rear, new tail-light clusters extend into the boot lid and a revised bumper has been added that houses a new lower diffuser panel finished with a honeycomb mesh vent.

“The 2013 Honda Civic exterior refinements infuse Civic with a more youthful, premium style,” said Vicki Poponi, assistant vice president of product planning for American Honda.

Mechanically, the Civic sedan remains unchanged, but Honda says the 2013 Civic will benefit from “a host of safety, feature, comfort, chassis and interior styling enhancements”.
