BMW M6 Gran Coupe Unveiled At Private Event

BMW M6 Gran Coupe

The BMW M6 Gran Coupé has been snapped at a private unveiling at the Nürburgring in Germany. Until BMW release an official set of images, these grainy and sometimes blurry images, taken with a mobile phone are all we need to see that the M6 Gran Coupé is the ultimate mix between the new M6 and the 6 Series Gran Coupé.

The silver model caught in these images has been fitted with the ‘M’ bits straight from the two-door M6 Coupé and Convertible models. Familiar items include the 20-inch ‘diamond-cut’ alloy wheels, track-focused ‘M’ ceramic brakes, as well as the bumpers both front and rear. We can also see a carbon fibre roof and a quad-tail exhaust system.

As with the two-door M6 models, the M6 Gran Coupé will be powered by a 4.4-litre V8 engine with two twin-scroll turbochargers capable of 412 kW of power and 680 Nm of torque. We expect a 0 – 100 km/h time of around 4.3 seconds. After all, the V8-powered 650i Gran Coupé is already capable of a 4.6 second benchmark sprint.

The new M6 Gran Coupé will make its public premiere at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit in mid-January.
