Word on the street is that only five McLaren 12C HS (or High Sport) cars were ever produced by the team at McLaren Special Operations, but in actual fact, a second run of another five cars was commissioned shortly after the first. The customer was a McLaren dealer, Tampa Bay in Florida to be precise, who wanted to offer his customers something different. The final result that is the ‘High Sport’, borrows styling from the MP4-12C GT3 race car, and an extra 55 kW from the 3.8-litre, twin-turbocharged, V8 engine, for a total output of 496 kW (up from 441 kW). This video by the Tampa Bay dealer, is the first showcase we’ve seen of the exclusive 12C HS.
