The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette hasn’t gone on sale yet, but to celebrate the mere existence of the all-new 7th generation, Chevrolet have announced the Corvette Stingray Premiere Edition.
The special Premiere Edition will be limited to 500 units and will be available exclusively with ‘Laguna Blue Tintcoat’ paintwork, as first seen on the 2013 Indy 500 pace car. The list of limited edition touches extends to a ‘stinger’ bonnet stripe, ‘Stingray’ logos on the door-sill plates and wheel caps, as well as a custom Corvette-branded luggage set from Thule.
In terms of performance enhancements, the Premiere Edition makes do with the standard car’s 6.2-litre LT1 V8, which already makes the 2014 ‘Vette the most powerful entry-level Corvette model ever introduced. With 334 kW and 624 Nm of torque on tap, the Corvette will accelerate from 0 – 100 km/h in under 4 seconds.
While the engine maybe left untouched, the Stingray Premiere Edition does benefit from Chevrolet’s Z51 Performance Package. Featues include Magnetic Selective Ride Control, a carbon-fibre roof and a variable-tuned performance exhaust system.
