The new BMW 4 Series Coupé will be launched in Estoril, Portugal within the next week, however, BMW have released the first images of the Coupé wearing its M Performance accessories. The new aerodynamic add-ons not only look great, but provide a glimpse of what the much anticipated M4 Coupé could look like too.
Let’s start with the obvious: the body kit. A product of BMW’s ‘M’ division, bodywork includes a new front bumper with a carbon splitter and wider air intakes. Deeper side skirts are positioned between 20-inch, lightweight, multi-spoke alloys, while at the rear, a new bumper integrates a diffuser and air ducts. A carbon fibre boot-lid spoiler, exterior mirrors caps and various gloss black accents provide the finishing touches.
BMW has added interior M Performance accessories too. These include a new three-spoke, Alcantara clad, steering wheel with integrated LED engine rev indicator and display, as well as sports seats, aluminium pedals and lashings of carbon fibre trim.
BMW also offer performance upgrades to the 4 Series range of engines. Through re-programming of the ECU and the addition of a sports exhaust system, the BMW 420d produces 145 kW and 418 Nm of torque, the BMW 428i produces 200 kW and 389 Nm of torque, while the BMW 435i boasts 260 kW and 450 Nm from its turbocharged straight-six. Incidentally, BMW say fuel consumption and CO2 emissions remaining unchanged despite these updates.
The full range of 4 Series M Performance accessories is expected to be shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
