Audi A6 Avant TDI Biturbo By Senner Tuning

Audi South Africa recently announced the availability of the new 3.0-litre TDI Biturbo V6 diesel engine in the form of the A7 Sportback. The biturbo diesel is no stranger to European markets though and Senner Tuning have developed a performance upgrade.

The standard 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 diesel already churns out a very punchy 230 kW and 650 Nm of torque from 1 450 r/min. Audi claim a 0 – 100 km/h sprint time of 5.3 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. Senner have revised the induction system for increased air intake and fettled with the Avant’s ECU to release a further 45 kW and 126 Nm.

With 275 kW and 776 Nm of twist, the Senner tuned Avant is close to matching the 4.2-litre V8-powered S6 Avant that has 309 kW and 550 Nm of torque. No performance figures have been released by the tuner though, which leaves us to speculate that the boosted V6 TDI would give the V8-powered S6 a proper scare in a 0 – 100 km/h dash.

With this in mind, Senner have also given the car the running gear to cope with the additional performance. A set of KW coilover springs and dampers have replaced the standard items, which lower the car by up to 55 mm, making for a lower centre of gravity and improved handling agility. A set of 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 255-wide rubber provide extra grip and can be had in two designs, namely Varianza T1S or Sword SC1.
