Recently we showed a video of Chevrolet’s new Performance Data Recorder that’s available for the 2014 Corvette Stingray. The system records data such as engine speed, gear selection, braking force and steering wheel angle, together with GPS, audio and video.
Now Ferrari have released a similar system, which will be available on the F12berlinetta, 458 Speciale and LaFerrari models. Unlike the joint-development between Chevrolet and Cosworth, however, Ferrari’s system is an in-house one and the same as used in Alonso and Räikkönen’s cars during F1 races and testing.
