There are few classes in four-wheel motor sport today that deliver consistently close racing. One formula, the Australian V8 Supercars Series, however, delivers like few others. Considering too the size of Australia relative to the strength of the series, it’s an achievement by the organisers that the formula is so well managed and supported.
Here we see an edge-of-your-seat battle for second place, from race 2 of the opening round of the 2014 championship. The debut pairing of 20-year old Scott Mclaughlin and his Volvo Polestar S60 V8 Supercar, are up against the four-time champion Jamie Whincup and his seasoned Holden VF Commodore. The only thing missing is commentary from South African rugby commentating legend Hugh Bladen…Unbelievable!
