Can the lightweight, stripped out and race-ready Renault Clio Cup set a better lap time than an Audi R8 V10 Plus? This is an interesting comparison because the cars are so very different.
The Clio Cup is front-wheel drive and linked to a turbocharged 1.6-litre engine via a sequential transmission. This might not sound like much, but the Clio Cup also hugs the road with competition suspension, brakes and slick tyres, whilst also weighing just 1 080kg.
On the other hand, the R8 V10 Plus is all-wheel drive and is a bona-fide supercar with a mid-mounted 5.2-litre V10. The V10 Plus weighs 1 570 kg and is running on street rubber, however, the R8 in this video is equipped with fade-resistant carbon ceramic brakes. Watch the video to see how the laps play out.
