Video: FCA Uconnect system hacked
We’ve always wondered whether an increase in multimedia systems’ connectivity comes with added vulnerability to hackers. After all, if they can hack a smartphone, what prevents them from doing the same to a car’s system connected to one…or more? In this chilling video two hackers intercept the system on FCA’s (that’s Fiat,Chrysler,Alfa) ubiquitous Uconnect system. First they turn the volume up and max the A/C but then take it to a more life threatening level when they turn the engine off – all from a remote device, anywhere in the world. FCA has issued a statement saying they are aware of the problem and working on a solution.
