Senner Tuning’s Audi RS5

Posted on 29 December 2010 by Scott Hayes

Senner Tuning AG have unveiled a subtle tuning kit for the recently released Audi RS5.

A Bilstein coilover kit, called B16 PSS10, has been added. It allows for 10-stage adjustable damping in both the compression and rebound cycles. The car is wearing two sets of rims too, for demonstration purposes, Spider SC1’s on the drivers side and Varianza T1S on the passenger side. Both sets of rims measure 20-inch at the front and rear.

By way of performance tuning, Senner have increased the power outputs to 372 kW and 478 Nm of torque. The sprint from 0 to 100km/h is done in 4.2 seconds. Maximum speed has been increased to 280 km/h and it’s possible to reach 300 km/h with a different set of tyres. The power increases have been achieved with a new exhaust system.

The mirrors have been finished in shiny black carbon fabric, a new front grille and window frames have also been added. Optional carbon fibre and custom leather trim are also available on request. The complete car costs €113 900 (R1 025 000), or to purchase the kit by itself costs €18 900 (R170 000).

MTM Creates 300 km/h Audi RS5 Without Much Effort

Posted on 31 July 2010 by Scott Hayes

European-based tuning companies waste no time in getting their hands on the latest hot models as they arrive in showrooms. Consequently, well known Audi tuner MTM has released the first tuned Audi RS5, boasting a top speed of 300 km/h – though they say more is possible.

Amazingly, the sole modification responsible for MTM’s modified RS5 is an ECU upgrade. MTM says they’ve made no changes to the drivetrain, but instead have changed the factory-set speed-limiter setting in the ECU with a few lines of code. Should be a cheep and cheerful upgrade then. Well, not quite. MTM are asking around US$1 400 for the privilege.

MTM say other upgrades are in development, including a custom suspension and some exhaust work to squeeze a few more horsepower out of the 331 kW V8.
