It’s a safe bet that few among us has the skill, not to mention the car, to do 431 km/h like official Bugatti driver Pierre Henri Raphanel. But that’s not to say many among us haven’t tried.
Raphanel’s amazing run made the new Bugatti Veyron Super Sport the world’s fastest production car. That’s him in the photo below – Raphanel said he had trouble sleeping for three days after the high-speed run, due to all the adrenaline pumping through his veins! Anyway, this got us thinking about how fast we have gone, which led to a discussion of the wisdom of going deep into three figures on a motorcycle on an arrow-straight road in the middle of nowhere. But we digress.
We thought it’d be great to hear your tales of wanton disregard for the speed limit and so we’re asking you: What’s the fastest you’ve driven, what were you in (or on) and where were you when you did it? On a track, on a road, doesn’t matter to us. It’s not like we’ll call the cops. And spare us the lectures. If we want to be scolded for speeding, we’ll call mom.
