The Renault DeZir is the French carmaker’s latest concept and is powered 100% by electricity. The electric vehicle concept will make its debut at this year’s Paris Motor Show at the end of September.
The Renault DeZir is powered by a vertically-mounted 24 kWh lithium-ion battery and an electric motor that develops 110 kW and 226 N.m of torque. The company says it used the same electric motor in the DeZir as the one fitted on its production electric cars. A full charge cycle will take eight hours, but the battery can be charged to 80 percent capacity within the first 20 minutes.
The Renault DeZir is rear-wheel drive and is built on a tubular steel frame chassis. The car is 4 225 millimeters long, 1 163 mm high and 1 986 mm wide, while the wheelbase is 2 582 mm. Renault says the DeZir is good for a 0 – 100 km/h sprint of 5 seconds and is capable of 175 km/h. Expected range of the DeZir EV concept is around 100 km.
The manufacturer did not say at this moment of the Renault DeZir will go into production, or if it’s just another design exercise.
