Hyundai Motorsport Ready To Electrify Frankfurt

We at SACarFan love motor shows. The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance came to an end last week after hosting the reveal of cars like the Bugatti Centodieci and two special edition Lamborghini’s, and now the world is ready to turn its attention from Pebble Beach to Germany for one of the biggest events on the motoring calendar – the Frankfurt Motor Show, where Hyundai will be looking to flex their muscles on German turf.

Hyundai i10 South AfricaHyundai has been building up hype for cars like the upcoming Hyundai i10 hatchback as well as a fully electric concept car that will demonstrate their vision for future EV’s. The teaser doesn’t give away too much info, but Hyundai says the concept will “demonstrate how Hyundai is rethinking mobility. It envisions a future where car customers will have “more freedom to design their cars in a way similar to how people design their homes”. They goes on to say how cars of the future will “become individualized living spaces” with more customizable interiors, so the new concept will likely have a futuristic, radical interior.

Hyundai Elelctric ConceptBut that’s not what everyone is excited for. Hyundai has also released a teaser for Hyundai Motorsports first-ever electric race car. Again, the manufacturer has been very secretive with details surrounding the electric race car but what we do know is that it will feature a hatchback design and will be powered by an electric motor with a high power output. That’s enough info to get us excited, but Hyundai has also revealed that the race car will be developed by Hyundai Motorsport at their headquarters in Germany, which is also home to their WRC division.

Hyundai Race Car Frankfurt Motor Show“With the first full electrified concept integrating STYLE SET FREE, as well as our first ever electrified race car, we are proud that Hyundai is once again showing a glimpse into the future of driving, while other manufacturers are still talking about it,” said Andreas-Christoph Hofmann, Vice President Marketing & Product at Hyundai Motor Europe. “Meanwhile, we are also excited to present the All-New i10 which, thanks to a range of connectivity and safety features, will become the next success factor for Hyundai in Europe.”
