Audi has released three new teaser sketches of the upcoming next-generation 2013 A3 model. The sketches show what both a three-door hatch and a four-door sedan variant of the next A3 will look like. Hints have also been divulged of the car’s future cockpit.
The next-generation A3 will need the four-door variant for the sedan-friendly U.S. and Chinese markets, plus the A3 sedan will likely grow in size too. Reports suggest the new Audi A3 will have a wheelbase of 2 630 mm, 35mm longer than the current three-door bodystyle. It is also expected to be both wider and lower than the current A3. The next A3 will also feature a hybrid, plug-in hybrid and all-electric drivetrain options, as well as the usual crop of petrols and diesels.
Expect the three-door next-generation Audi A3 to debut at the 2012 Geneva auto show with the sedan, and other versions, to follow later in that year.
