The first pictures of the facelifted Audi Q5 have hit the Internet. Originally launched in 2008, changes to the Audi Q5 are hard to spot, but include a redesigned front bumper, a revised grille and restyled headlights while the rear looks virtually identical.
The interior updates of the 2012 Audi Q5 are subtle to say the least, with a slight change to the steering wheel and a couple of tweaks to the interior trim to reinforce its premium appeal. Really though, the updates are just enough for current Q5 owners to know their compact SUV is now older.
Under the bodywork, however, Audi has made a significant change to the engine line-up, which now sees the 3.2-litre FSI petrol engine being dumped in favour of the more efficient, supercharged, 3.0-litre TFSI unit. It’s been detuned of course, to around 200 kW, which means those who where hopeful of an S4-powered Q5, will have to wait until the end of the year when the SQ5 is expected.
More details of the 2012 Audi Q5 are expected to be announced at the Beijing Motor Show next week.
