If the Cayenne S sounds a little too ‘soft’ and Cayenne Turbo a little too extreme for your liking, then the new Porsche Cayenne GTS may be the answer you’re looking for.
The Cayenne GTS is powered by a more highly-tuned version of the naturally-aspirated, 4.8-litre, V8 engine found in the Cayenne S. In the S the V8 produces 294 kW and 500 Nm of torque, while in the new GTS its been upped to 309 kW and 515 Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed Tiptronic S paddleshift gearbox, which aids the Cayenne GTS in its 0 – 100 km/h sprint of 5.7 seconds. The GTS has a top speed of 260 km/h.
In terms of styling, the Cayenne GTS shares its front-end looks with the range-topping Cayenne Turbo, while flared wheel arches, larger side skirts, new 20-inch RS wheels, gloss-black highlights and a split-wing roof spoiler add to the GTS’s appeal. The driving dynamics of the Cayenne have been given a more sporty character with this latest GTS variant, which features a 20 mm lowered ride height, six-piston monobloc aluminum fixed brake calipers at the front and four-piston equivalents at the rear. Also standard is the PASM, Porsche’s unique stability and ride control system with ‘Comfort’, ‘Normal’ and ‘Sport’ modes.
Inside, the Porsche Cayenne GTS features eight-way electronically adjustable sports seats and combination leather/Alcantara upholstery. Alcantara is also found on the door panels, armrests and rooflining. The ‘GTS’ logo is embroidered on the head restraints of both the front and outer rear seats. Customers can also choose various colour an trim options, such as decorative stitching and seatbelts in contrasting colours.
