We’ve talked about McLaren Special Operations (MSO) before, in fact, the McLaren Automotive division made headlines in August with the one-off McLaren X-1. This time they’ve produced the McLaren 12C Bespoke Project 8, another one-off car commissioned by an anonymous McLaren customer.
That’s not all though, because the owner also handed over his McLaren F1, which was repainted to match the 12C. As the photos show, the 12C has been outfitted with the vented front fenders, red carbon fibre trim inserts on the front splitter, side air intakes and the engine bay, as well as a unique set of alloy wheels. The fenders look to have been borrowed from the more aggressive 12C High Sport (HS) project, which is no bad thing in our opinion.
Inside, both the F1 and 12C Bespoke Project 8 are trimmed in contrasting red and white for a racier feel. In the 12C this includes the leather upholstery, carbon fibre steering wheel and carbon fiber trim on the centre stack.
There’s been no word on the technical details of either car, so we assume this project has been one focused on aesthetics.
Speaking of which, we’ve long been a fan of the styling of the exclusive 12C HS, with it’s aggressive front and rear bumpers. Well, it seems McLaren customers have been heard and the company has just announced a new, more aggressive, front bumper that it unveiled at the Windsor Castle Concours d’Elegance last weekend. The new bumper blends elements from the 12C’s original with those of the exclusive High Sport model, which you can see on the yellow 12C in the gallery below.
