Novitec Rosso are known for their specialist tuning skills of all cars Italian and their work often involves a hefty boost in performance. In the case of the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, Novitec have gone for a ‘mild not wild’ approach, but it’s hardly disappointing and we suspect it won’t be the last time they fettle with this supercar.
The Ferrari F12 Berlinetta is already an amazing piece of kit, with a 6.2-litre V12 that pushes out 545 kW, 690 Nm of torque and is capable of reaching 340 km/h. Novitec have reworked the V12′s fuel injection and ignition settings via the ECU, which has taken power to 561 kW and 703 Nm of torque. In addition, the tuning company has adjusted the throttle response and that of the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. While no sprint times have been released, Novitec claim the top speed has increased to 345 km/h – just 4 km/h off that of the Lamborghini Aventador.
Novitec are also working on an aerodynamics package for the F12 Berlinetta, but in the meantime they’ve fitted 21-inch wheels with 255/30 rubber in front and 22-inch 335/25 items at the back. The suspension has also been lowered with sport springs by 40 mm and a lifting kit has been installed to clear the front end over speed bumps. A butterfly valve in the exhaust can be opened or closed via the steering wheel-mounted Manettino switch, which allows more or less V12 roar, depending on how much the driver’s head hurts from the previous night’s Gumball, Bull Run or other such hedonistic party.
