Video: BMW M5 Longest Drift World Record

The world record for the longest drift has been set by BMW Performance Centre Instructor Johan Schwartz in a BMW M5 (F10). The stock standard M5 maintained a continuous drift for a total of 51.278 miles, or 82.04 kilometers, around the Centre’s skid pan. Will we see Mercedes-Benz come up with an answer to BMW, as their previous record was just 5.7 kilometers?

The world’s longest drift was set not simply for the fun of shredding a set of Continental tyres, although there’s no denying that simple truth, but the exercise formed part of the week-long BMW Charity Pro-Am fund raising initiative that benefited 150 different organisations.
