Deliveries of the all-new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray haven’t even begun yet, but that hasn’t stopped the tuners at Hennessey Performance from developing a 745 kW performance upgrade.
The C7 Corvette Stingray is powered by a 6.2-litre naturally aspirated V8, which churns out 334 kW and 624 Nm of torque, making the it the most powerful entry-level Corvette ever. Hennessey say they will offer C7 Stingray owners a choice of four performance packages, which involve either supercharging or twin-turbocharging.
The ‘entry-level’ HPE600 setup uses an Eaton TVS2300 supercharger, involves an ECU remap and added cold air induction to offer 447 kW, while further tweaking takes power to 522 kW in the HPE700. Pricing for the supercharger packages starts at $12 495, which is over and above the Corvette’s recommended retail price of $51 995.
The HPE800 and HPE1000 upgrades both benefit from twin-turbochargers, with the former extracting 596 kW from the LS1 V8 and the latter a monumental 745 kW. The HPE1000 also adds an upgraded crankshaft, camshaft, pistons, cylinder heads and fuel system. A new exhaust system and intercoolers are also part of the deal that will cost more than the car itself at $67 950.
Hennessey offer a 3-year/60 000km warranty on the HPE600 and 700 packages, while a more cautious 1-year/20 000km warranty is offered with the highly tuned HPE800 and 1000 upgrades. Hennessey plans to start with its first upgrades in the final quarter of this year.
