The seventh-generation of the venerable Volkswagen Golf GTI is still widely regarded as the benchmark of everyday hot hatchbacks, but depending on who you ask, some argue it’s lost some of the visual aggression and sporty edge to compete against the latest breed of RenaultSports, OPCs and Audi and BMW hot hatch offerings.
Clearly RevoZport are of the latter opinion and they’ve rendered a few images and created a power package to transform the tame Golf 7 GTI into a razor sharp, agro monster. RevoZport are calling their tuned Volkswagen Golf 7 GTI the Razor 7.
The RevoZport RAZOR 7 benefits from brand-new ECU mapping, a titanium exhaust which saves 10kg, an induction kit and the result on the 2.0-litre TSI’s power output is a jump from 162 kW to more than 216 kW which is a very handsome Golf R, Audi S3-looking figure. More specifically than their work on the VW Golf’s power-plant, they have taken the aesthetics to task and created a very aggressive and good looking tuned VW Golf 7 GTI.
We’re referring to the dressed-up double-decker front splitter, a healthy dose of carbon fibre thanks to the aftermarket bonnet, with two air vents to keep the engine bay cool after adding all the extra horsepower. Down the flanks you’ll find a pair of carbon fibre side skirts, a GT-Wing and a tasty rear diffuser all with a touch of red accents on the body work and wheels.
RevoZport say the aerodynamic kit is already available to order while the power boost will go on sale in the new year. This is one tuned Volkswagen Golf GTI we wouldn’t want to mess with.
