A twin-turbocharged Aston Martin that produces close to 700 kW and costs 7.5 million euros? Yes, it sounds amazing and from the pictures it looks it too. But Aston have just given us the One-77, so what’s this all about then?
This is the Aston Martin Super Sport, a specialist, coachbuilt supercar by Star Electric Cars France. Most of the time they build electric-powered golf carts that resemble Hummers, Bentleys and Astons, along with one-of-a-kind coachbuilds for rich car collectors around the world.
However, with production plans for up to eight Super Sports, this will be mass production by the company’s standards. Although, at over R65 million a piece, we doubt there will be too many disappointed prospective buyers!
The car is powered by a twin-turbocharged 5.4-litre V8, positioned in the middle of the car, that produces between 588 – 699 kW. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox (with a torque-sensing limited-slip differential), but a Formula 1-style paddleshift transmission is reportedly also available.
The Super Sport will be built with carbon fibre bodywork and Brembo, or AP Racing, carbon ceramic brakes. The interior will be covered in leather, alcantara and carbon fibre, with a set of Recaros to keep you snug.
The dramatic looking hypercar features plenty of Aston Martin styling cues, despite there being nothing in the British company’s current range that looks remotely similar. Each of the eight units will be be painted in a different colour, with each color only being used once.

Aston Martin’s One-77 supercar has moved closer to setting a new all-time record for the British marque in initial high speed testing after surpassing all predictions and breaking the 350 km/h mark.
The One-77 is currently undergoing a stringent development process ahead of planned launch in 2010 with high speed testing taking place at a top secret proving ground in southern Europe. In a series of test runs completed last week, the One-77 exceeded original expectations and recorded a 354.86 km/h top speed in dry but windy conditions, under the guidance of the Aston Martin engineering team.
Press Release
Aston Martin’s One-77 supercar has moved closer to setting a new all-time record for the British marque in initial high speed testing after surpassing all predictions and breaking the 220mph mark.
The One-77 is currently undergoing a stringent development process ahead of planned launch in 2010 with high speed testing taking place at a top secret proving ground in southern Europe. In a series of test runs completed last week the One-77 exceeded original expectations and recorded a 220.007mph (354.86kmh) top speed in dry but windy conditions under the guidance of the Aston Martin engineering team. Dynamic testing is now scheduled to continue into the New Year.
Powered by a new Aston Martin 7.3 litre V12 engine, the One-77 is engineered to deliver breathtaking levels of power and performance. The dramatically styled two-door, two-seat sports coupe is based on an innovative new carbon fibre monocoque body structure and adopts new active aerodynamic technology.
The One-77 is the ultimate expression of what Aston Martin stands for and will combine modern technology and design with craftsmanship and ultimate exclusivity to create the world’s most desirable automotive art form.
As name suggests, production is limited up to a maximum of 77 individually numbered examples, with deliveries expected to commence in mid-2010.

The British firm has lifted the veil on what the entire automotive community is calling the ultimate Aston Martin at the 79th edition of the Geneva Motor Show. The engineers and designers of the One-77 created the truly sensational car with this very thought in mind.
According to Dr. Ulrich Bez, the One-77 Coupe “quite simply had to be the ultimate expression of Aston Martin. As you can now see, we have achieved that goal in magnificent style.”
How did Aston Martin do it? Simply by creating a car that is beyond understanding. The engine is derived from the house V12 already available in the DB9 and DBS coupes, but now boasts 7.3 litres instead of the usual 6.0 litres, as well as 521kW. The engineers of the famous Cosworth company handcraft each engine and mounted it 100mm lower than any other V12 ever to grace an Aston Martin.
With its astonishingly powerful engine and carbon chassis, the One-77′s projected weight is but a meagre 1500kg’s. Aston Martin predicts a top speed of a shade over 320km/h, with a zero to 100km/h sprint of just 3.5 seconds.
Ofcourse this exclusivity comes at an astronomical price, US$1.4 million to be precise, but despite this all 77 cars are already spoken for. The car on display at the Geneva show is stamped #1, and 76 others will follow by the end of the year.
