Configure Your Lexus LF-A Online – Fast & Furious Style

Posted on 24 October 2009 by Scott Hayes

www.SACarFan.co.za - Lexus LFA Online Configurator

For a Ferrari and Lamborghini challenging supercar with a hefty US$375 000 price tag, one would expect that Lexus and its parent company, Toyota, would at least avoid offering any sort of “Fast and Furious” style paint options – or the ability to customise the vehicle’s interior with weird colour combos on the all-new 412 kW V10-powered LF-A sports car. Well, think again.

As you can see for yourselves, by fooling around with the just launched LF-A online configurator, you can ‘rice-up’ the Japanese supercar in variety of eccentric exterior colors including ‘Passionate Pink’ and ‘Lavender’ that can be combined with coloured calipers and three different shades for the alloy wheels.

And that’s not all. Lexus also offers the ability to customize the LF-A’s interior by choosing diverse colours for the seats, the steering wheel, the carpet, the headliner, the door panels and lower part of the dashboard, just to mention a few.

Unfortunately for some, bobble heads, racing stripes and underbody neon lights are not available at this time.

New Interactive Ferrari Website

Posted on 30 March 2009 by Scott Hayes

Over the Grand Prix weekend you could be forgiven for thinking Ferrari would be solely focused on the track-side action. But while the Maranello crew launched its 2009 assault in the Formula One season, it also used the weekend to launch a new website.

Ferrari Website

The new Ferrari.com site is a richly interactive multimedia experience, bursting with content for owners and Prancing Horse fans alike. There’s even a Maranello Experience section, offering a virtual guided tour of facilities at the complex.

Ferrari Website

The site also allows visitors to build their own car from the current range before taking it for a virtual spin around the Mugello circuit and pitting their results against those of Michael Schumacher. Mr Schumacher can also offer advice on the best way to improve lap times around the circuit.

During F1 events, the site offers a virtual pit-lane experience. Results from previous years can be compared and telemetry from the cars can be viewed. Ferrari test driver Marc Genè will also be on hand to meter out advice.

Ferrari Website

Possibly the most appealing feature of the new website is the personal blogs of Ferrari’s F1 drivers, giving fans an insight into just what occupies the minds of the drivers outside of the race-day events.

To keep Fezza fans immersed in Ferrari culture, there are over 2100 images, 600 video clips and 500 articles with constant updates.

The site may be a touch slow on some connections, but is well worth the experience, regardless of whether you’re a Ferrari fan or not.
