With the Geneva Motor Show just around the corner, Volkswagen is apparently preparing to debut seven brand-new concept cars from various Volkswagen Group subsidiaries, including Audi, SEAT, Skoda and Volkswagen, as well as, of course, the highly-anticipated Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4.
Volkswagen is determined to overtake Toyota as the king of the automotive world by 2018 and has reportedly prepared a more than a few show-stoppers for Geneva to help them nudge towards that goal. These cars hope to prove Volkswagen is thinking ahead, and promise to provide a glimpse of what to expect from the company in the future. Volkswagen Group design boss, Walter de’ Silva, recently spoke with Automotive News Europe, saying the company would unveil concepts from SEAT, Skoda, and Volkswagen, as well as one or two from Audi. The design boss also said the recently acquired Italdesign Giugiaro company (bought by Volkwagen Group last year) will also have two concepts on display representing Volkswagen Group.
The exact concept car line-up hasn’t been announced, but expect something based on the new Volkswagen Beetle, the ultra-efficient Volkswagen XL1 concept, as well as an evolution of the Volkswagen BlueSport roadster or similar compact sports car.
