Chevrolet has introduced the 2013 Trailblazer, ahead of its debut at the Bangkok International Motor Show.
The Trailblazer SUV features rugged styling and body-on-frame construction that promises to deliver best-in-class ride quality as well as responsiveness. The cabin has Chevrolet’s ‘dual cockpit’ design, (familiar to the rest of their current model range), and features a three-spoke steering wheel, contrasting trim and metallic accents. There’s seating for seven and the second two rows can be folded down to create a nearly flat load floor.
Under the bonnet, a choice of two, 4-cylinder, diesel engines is available. A 2.5-litre produces 110 kW and 350 Nm of torque, while the 2.8-litre unit develops 132 kW and 470 Nm of torque. They can be connected to a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission, as well as an optional four-wheel drive system.
With an independent, five-link, rear suspension, together with coil springs, the Trailblazer promises a smooth ride and adequate suspension articulation.
The 2013 Chevrolet Trailblazer will go on sale in Thailand this June, before being introduced in other world markets. Here in South Africa, General Motors says, “Pricing, full specifications and features will be released in due course.”
