Probably the last thing the juiced BMW M6 ever needed was more power. The funny thing is aftermarket tuners love to attach themselves to power-crazed cars that are already a bit loopy, so they can turn-up-the-wick on them without fearing the consequences. No one does this better than the lads at G-Power who are famous for mega BMW conversions.
G-Power has just launched a new aftermarket program for the 2013 BMW M6. As you can imagine, they are not messing around with such a serious car. The 2013 G-Power BMW M6 develops 477 kW and 777 Nm of torque thanks to the ‘Bi-Tronik III kit’ that reprograms the ECU, while G-Power do alternative work to up the boost pressure on the turbochargers of the 4.4-litre V8.
The 2013 G-Power M6 is able to get to 100 km/h in a claimed 3.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 315 km/h. G-Power fit a new Titanium exhaust system with carbon fibre tailpipes which is 12 kg lighter than the factory one.
For the full aftermarket look, the G-Power BMW M6 sits on 21-inch alloys wrapped up with sticky Michelin tyres 265/30 ZR 21 and 305/25 ZR 21, and a new coil over suspension setup. The brakes had to be upgraded too. So, the new M6 now comes with 6-piston calipers and 420 mm ceramic discs on the front.
As far as the cost is concerned, the tyre package is priced at €8 325, the coil over suspension at €2 180, the ceramic brake system for the front axle €14 460, the titanium exhaust at €5 985 and the engine tune at €5 200. Or roughly an extre R500 000 for the equivalent in South Africa.
