Paul Walker-signed Fast and Furious Jetta up for sale
If you missed out, or couldn’t afford the princely sum of $233 710 for the Nissan 350Z which featured in Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift, a second chance of owning one of the franchise’s iconic cars is heading your way.
The car is currently owned by Frankie Muniz, known for playing the agent Cody Banks, and has seen no further alteration from its original design.
And despite hiding a weak 2.0-litre engine and 4-speed automatic gearbox, it remains one of our favourites and bears Paul Walker’s signature – a momento which will definitely drive up the auction price of this stickered-and-alloy’d Jetta. Other modifications which show the movie’s age include an out-dated Playstation 2.
Jesse’s Fast-ahem and Furious 1995 Jetta will be up for auction between the 23rd and 31st of January at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction, although no reserve price has been placed on the car as yet. Despite it being less of a car than Morimoto’s Nissan 350Z, we wouldn’t be surprised if it eclipses that auction sale by some margin.
Perhaps the Jetta’s most famous scene is when it races bad-boy Johnny Tran’s Honda S2000 at Race Wars. This scene then became a social media scandal when some fan freeze framed the scene only to discover that the Jetta had drilled discs but no brake calipers. The freedom of Hollywood. Many memes followed.
