Proof that McLaren F1 has the greatest V12

“How do you want the McLaren F1 to sound on start-up?” “Brr, Ra, Wham” – or something to that effect. A unique sequence of cylinder activation and witchcraft trickery with the rpm, and the rest is history. Well not really but it’s a bloody good start to a story which F1 designer Peter Stevens eloquently elaborates on in this interview.

Now by today’s standards this audio clip (gosh no video) is longer than the Lord of the Rings box set but we haven’t listened to a better story in 2016. Worth every minute!
