The VW Amarok Ultimate breaks R600 000.
Volkswagen has added to the spate of special edition bakkies in South Africa with the VW Amarok Ultimate which becomes the first bakkie to offer Bi-xenon lights with LED daytime running lamps as standard. Some claim to fame where in the past an Ultimate version would allude to a macho bullbar and a row of halogen fogs…
These lights are flanked by two twin chrome bars on the radiator grille. Rendering it with less off-road ability are the 19-inch Cantera wheels but other visual updates like silver wing mirrors, darkened rear lights, chrome side bars and underbody guard enforce the Amarok’s stature as a handsome bakkie tailored for the modern buyer.
VW Amarok Ultimate is equipped with park distance control with reversing camera, electric folding and heated wing mirrors, heated front seats in either Vienna or Alcantara leather, RCD 510 Radio/CD system with mobile phone preparation, rain sensor with intermittent wipers, auto diming rear view mirror and special velour floor mats.
The engine in the VW Amarok Ultimate is the firm’s flagship 2.0 BiTDI 132kW engine. This comes paired with 4Motion and 8-speed automatic gearbox. Better drivetrain combinations are hard to find but the Amarok now becomes the most expensive bakkie on the SA market.
