Official launch date for new 485kW Ferrari FF
Ferrari has moved slowly to update its radical four-seater FF and at last the Italian firm has broken the silence by announcing that the new Ferrari FF will make an official debut at Lake Como, Italy, on the 15th of February. Ferrari has confirmed its participation at the prestigious annual Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este where it will be right at home next to the world’s most exotic automotive metal.
Going on AutoMedia test mules the upcoming Ferrari FF V12 has a larger grille and air intakes (hard to notice when caked in ice) which plays an important part in safely raising the power to 485kW. Ferrari FF 2016 gains an 8-speed auto gearbox said to improve acceleration times and the chassis receives a small tweak, but in typical fashion Ferrari has been coy about the whole thing.
Still when the covers come off in February we might be in for a few more surprises with a styling direction following that of the Ferrari 488. Other nifty features include Apple CarPlay and an updated multimedia system.
This is one car people tend to underrate and forget about but a normally aspirated V12 from Maranello is still a very special (and rare) treat. Aston Martin Rapide aside there’s nothing quite like it.
