Sizzling Audi RS Q3 Performance coming soon
Audi has definitely hit the ground running in 2016, with their latest offering shaking things up in the compact SUV market. Meet the new Audi RS Q3 Performance; the newest member of the “Performance” family, which includes the Audi RS6 Performance as well as the Audi RS7 Performance.
Audi has proved that their “Performance” division is a force to be reckoned with and the RS Q3 is no exception. Packing 270kW of power and 465Nm of torque from its 2.5-litre five-cylinder TFSI engine , the numbers of the Audi RS Q3 are on par with the diabolical Audi RS3, making it the most powerful Q3 ever produced.
The 0-100km/h will take 4.4 seconds instead of the previous 4.8 seconds, while the top speed has also increased to 269km/h thanks to Audi’s improved Quattro all-wheel drive system and seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. To put this into perspective, the Audi RS Q3 Performance could beat a 2012 Audi R8 V8 Spyder to 100km/h. (Let that sink in…)
Subtle exterior tweaks accompany the performance boost to distinguish the Audi RS Q3 Performance from other models, such as a matt-titanium finished front grille frame and air inlet ducts, while the roof rails, upper edge of the rear diffuser and fins of the roof mounted spoiler also feature the same unique finish.
20” bespoke alloy wheels accompany the red brake calipers, while an RS performance design package including an RS sport leather steering wheel, gear lever selector, center armrest and floor mats with blue contrast stitching can be added at no extra charge.
The Audi RS Q3 Performance will make its debut appearance in March at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, and is expected to reach showrooms before August 2016 carrying a price tag of approximately R1,2mil.
