Geneva: Faster Bentley Flying Spur S is here
Bentley Bentayga isn’t the only thing that’s making the luxury brand slightly bullish about its future prospects; next month’s Geneva Motor Show will see a faster and sharper handling Bentley Flying Spur take to the stage.
Called the Flying Spur S (so for subtle or S for sport) Crewe’s newest member sees 4.0-litre V8 twin turbo push out another 15kW for a final figure of 388kW and 680Nm. What does that mean for the civilised drag racers? The 0-100km/h reduced to 4.6 seconds (0.3 faster than non-S versions) and the top speed just shy of 320km/h. You can still expect to get the same economy and emissions.
Bentley claims to offer a tauter drive for the Flying Spur S without harming the ride quality. Revised adaptive dampers reduce body control allowing the driver to fully exploit that small nudge in power.
The Flying Spur’s royally distinguished shape is enhanced through new badges, black radiator grille, rear diffuser and 20-inch gloss black wheels. Rather than the obvious route of carbon fibre – think Mulsanne Speed – piano-black veneers and unique leather stitching will let you, and others, know this is something exceptional.
We’ll be bringing you an exciting announcement about Bentley South Africa in the coming weeks.
