Toyota C-HR will be first hybrid in sgement
Toyota’s Juke rival is the latest to make the Geneva-leaked-list less than a week before its scheduled public unveiling. The Toyota C-HR carries through that futuristic concept look and has none of the weirdness of the Juke, instead putting its own spin on the design path of the Honda HR-V and Mazda CX-3. Think Toyota Auris Cross version…
The arches add considerable width to the design while the roofline tapers aggressively to a pinched rear window. The hexagonal grille which has been a design standard trademark of recent Toyotas is not present and the slim new design has been adopted with hybrid efficiency in mind.
Toyota C-HR could be the first hybrid model in class with a 4-cylinder engine mated to CVT gearbox and hybrid system. The layout will be similar to that of the latest Prius while conventional powertrains could add lower price points to a range that will sit below the Toyota RAV4.
Aside from Geneva, a racing version of the Toyota C-HR will race at the Nürburgring endurance event this May.
