Vulcano’s titanium shell is its worst enemy
March 15, 2016
The more beautiful the car, the more difficult it is to design and uncontrollable the costs. Icona, the design firm responsible for the Vulcano, opted for titanium over carbon fibre and lost many years of their lives as a consequence.
Built by hand is the Vulcano’s appeal but also its curse and even if the company could cobble together a few, there’s no panelbeater dumb enough to try and fix it. The Vulcano is powered by the same 6.2-litre V8 found in the C6 Corvette ZR1 and can reach 100km/h in 2.8 seconds.
