Peugeot to revolutionise range with new i-cockpit

Peugeot recently revealed their vision of an instinctive, safer and involving driving experience with the updated Peugeot i-Cockpit. An innovative design coupled to a heads-up digital display and an interactive touchscreen puts Peugeot at the forefront of French technology.

A redesigned compact steering wheel offers agile manoeuvrability and improved driving sensation by increasing the driver’s field of vision and leg space. Since the movement during steering is reduced, the driver is more responsive and agile, in a relaxed driving position.

A 12.3” high resolution heads-up display puts the crucial information in front of the driver, eliminating the need to look away from the road, and an 8” tablet-like touchscreen instinctively places all control at the fingertips of the driver. The result is an incredibly streamlined, modern and technologically informing instrument panel.

A set of elegant chromed toggle switches attract the driver and are pleasing on the eye, while their soft and metallic feel exudes high quality. This sensation continues with the authoritative gear lever, which responds effortlessly.

Satin chrome elements, the audacious choice of materials and the precision of assembly give the cabin an incredibly accomplished feel and invites drivers to indulge in futuristic driving pleasure.

Aesthetics aside; the i-Cockpit houses some serious technology. Voice interactive 3D navigation is provided courtesy of Tom-Tom, and device connectivity is taken to the next level due to the Mirror Screen function as well as Apple CarPlay, Mirrorlink and Android Auto technologies.

At the simple touch of a button, nearly all senses are immersed. Sight; by adapting the intensity of light to change the in-car atmosphere. Sound; with full audio customizability. Touch; with the seats offering multipoint massages and a fragrance diffuser to cater to smell.

Two driving modes come standard to the occupants: “Boost”, for enthusiastic driving, and “Relax”, for a more relaxed driving experience. Both atmospheres are entirely customisable, making it possible to go beyond the driver’s and passengers’ pleasure and make their on-board experience unique, engaging and unforgettable.
