Don’t move a muscle with Bentayga smartwatch app

Glancing at your watch, not because you’re running late – the W12 twin turbo would never allow that – but because Bentley has just built a bespoke smartwatch app that creates a more convenient method of interacting with the car’s advanced onboard electronics.

Designed for the Apple device, the smartwatch virtually eliminates any need to arch out the seat and reach for those buttons or switches. Now you can sink into the Bentayga’s soft leather seats and stay there, letting your watch do all the work.

Using Bluetooth connection, the app is able to control functions like audio, climate control and seats but at a later stage it will be easy to incorporate new functions – just don’t expect the watch to do any of the driving.

“The Bentayga is technologically advanced and combines this with luxury in a way only Bentley can achieve,” Dan Whittaker, Director of Electrical and Electronics at Bentley, said in a statement released to members of the media. “This new Apple Watch connectivity is another example of how we are constantly innovating in order to enhance the customer experience.”

The first few Bentley Bentaygas will be arriving in South Africa this month. The new Johannesburg dealership is positioned on the corner of Corlett Drive and Melrose Boulevard. Pricing starts just over R4 million.
